“ ”This easy to access resource appeals to children, professionals and parents a like. Simple and to the point, I even caught my EYFS pupils enjoying testing each other on the signs. Animals and food appeal to all an are a fantastic place to start in bringing signs into everyday life.

As teaching aids, Chatasign books are very user friendly.
What sets these books apart is the quality of the photography, reminiscent of that found in Dorling Kindersley books. The symbols are standard and therefore familiar to most people...

As promised I presented the sample Siena’s book to my Paediatric team meeting. I asked them for feedback and below is a summary of that given. I hope it is helpful.
The consensus was that the books are professionally made and attractive. The group also felt that these were great resources for parents/carers to purchase and use to complement the advice of an SLT.

I have just placed an order for your new book. My children adore the animal one - my two year old son often gets it out to 'read' with my four year old daughter whose communication in the world of animals has improved so much. She doesn't tend to do the signs but she will have a go at saying the words and the noise that the animal makes. She never tires of it and it is lovely to see her playing with her little brother.
I don't know what your next topic is but, from a personal note, school would be useful. Eleanor has just started school and we really struggle to communicate with her about what has happened at school and what she did and such like. I don't know if it is possible but something school related would be really good. Please keep me informed of whatever you do next though - our speech and language therapist was very impressed by the books and had not seen anything like it before.

Hi there we love this resource and can think of lots of ways we can use it with our pupils. What I like is that it is robust, the photos are clear , up to date, age appropriate and relevant. Having the sign on the back is a great reminder for staff so that they can sign accurately and consistently. we can see this used as a teaching tool as well as a communication tool /aide memoire to be used at key times in the day.

Hello, just wanted to say, thank you and I love your flipcharts. My son is 2,5 and has Down Syndrome and they use your books at his school, I also have just posted your books on our forum for families with children with ds, as most our children sign first before they start talking and the pictures and signs are very clear. Am looking forward to the next books.

The book is very attractive and user friendly both for young people and adults and the combination of the picture, sign and symbol in the stand up format is hugely engaging.

Love your 'Drinks, snacks & treats' book. Would like them to be used in Class Bases by our Signing Champions for ongoing staff-training in context. The images are so clearly produced would also like to experiment with some of our more confident signing pupils to use for 'peer training'.
